Colossians Simply Bible Study - A Women's Study

We’ve been there, and we understand the feelings of frustration and guilt that can creep into your heart when you feel inept or overburdened! But studying the Bible shouldn’t be a source of frustration. It should be a source of life-giving encouragement! Join Carmen as she walks you through the book of Colossians using the inductive Bible study method. You’ll gain a fresh understanding of how to study the Bible, and you’ll walk away with a fresh perspective of who God is.

This 5-week study begins Wednesday, Oct. 18. Choose from a morning and an evening option, and childcare is available during both!

Get into the holiday spirit a little early by making two holiday wreaths ... one for yourself and one for a local shut-in!

Women will gather and connect in East End from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27. Participants have a choice of making two fall wreaths or two Christmas wreaths. Women will learn how to make bows and create one wreath to take home and one wreath for another woman.

The cost for the evening is $15 and includes two wreaths with decorations and bows (women will take one home and donate the second wreath), along with snacks. Pre-registration is needed by Friday, October 20

Each gathering will consist of some social time, a discussion of upcoming activities, and a 30-minute presentation on topics of interest to women living alone. The next topic will be, “Medicare Options for 2024,” presented by Scott Bitting, an independent health insurance professional. We welcome you to join other women that can relate to you for a time of fellowship, laughter, and fun!

Dr. Chapman will also be a guest speaker on Sunday, October 15 during both services. He will be teaching from Proverbs 28:13 concerning "Dealing Effectively with Our Failures." 

Weekend of Rest is the perfect opportunity to catch your breath in the midst of the busy, back-to-school season! Ladies, come and learn how to rest and practice slowing down, relaxing, and resting on Sept. 22 and 23.

On Friday night, Sept. 22, women have the option to meet in East End from 7 to 9 p.m. for an Evening of Rest with Heather Weisel. With scripture, relaxation techniques, and aromatherapy, be prepared to slow down and have a wonderfully refreshing Friday night! (Please use Parking Lot and Entrance C.)

The next morning, on Saturday, Sept. 23, women have the option to meet from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 23, in the Atrium. Carmen Beasley will explain the importance of the biblical command to rest and lead women through a time of quiet, peaceful rest for the soul. This refreshing morning will be filled with worship, learning, some connection with other women, and light refreshments. (Please use Parking Lot and Entrance C.)

As artists, God created us to reflect His creativity and express His beauty through the artistic gifts He has given us. The arts have the ability to speak to hearts in ways everyday language does not. The Artistic Collaborative is a space for artists of all types in our church to come together, listen to the Lord through prayer and His Word, respond to Him by creating, and collaborate with other artists. Together, the artists facilitate synergy, as we create works that enhance the sermons preached on a Sunday at The Chapel. 

 At our gatherings, we look into Scripture, following the current sermon series, share together from our hearts, create, share creations, etc. We also want to hone one another’s gifts as we create and be a safe place to do that. Please join us on the second Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:30pm in the Choir Room.

These initial 5 weeks will introduce God as our ultimate source of knowledge and authority, and will offer a broad view of the doctrines of God, man, Christ, and salvation.

Part 2: Wednesdays, from Oct. 18 – Nov. 15

Building on Part 1, this 5-week supplemental course will cover such topics as the Holy Spirit, church structure, the ordinances of baptism and communion, Christ’s return, and eternity.

No past choir or musical experience is necessary - Kids Worship Choir offers a fun opportunity to learn new musical skills together while lifting our voices in praise to the One who is worthy! Once we get a few practice sessions under our belt, the Kids Worship Choir will have the opportunity to lead worship during our Sunday morning services!

Baptism is a beautiful ordinance of the church that expresses your identification with Christ and is symbolic of dying to self and being resurrected in Him (Romans 6:1-10). We offer classes to walk you through Scripture so you will understand clearly the significance of being baptized.

Our baptism class is a single session on a Sunday morning. Advance registration is required in order to attend.

GriefShare is a support group that exists to help adults rebuild their lives after the death of a loved one. Join us as we begin to work toward healing together.

From Exodus to Jonah, Colossians and all of the different names of God, ladies have a variety of studies to choose from!

Men, join us as we study the book of Jonah and learn about the inner workings of his heart, his fears, motivations, and passing moods. Jonah is really a book about God and how through painful experiences we can come to recognize the true character of God.

Wednesday nights will be full of Bible knowledge, application of Bible truths, and fun games, all while helping kids grow to be more like Jesus. Kids will explore the Gospels and learn how each account of the story seamlessly weaves different details together to share the good news of Jesus and the kingdom of God.

High school and middle school small groups are back! Be sure to register your student so they have the opportunity to foster relationships with one another while having deeper conversations about what it looks like to follow Jesus during the school year.

The Art of Marriage is a study for adults that helps participants blend their personalities and their life circumstances to create a divinely-inspired work of art — marriage.

Every marriage is unique, expressed by the colorful personalities of each spouse and textured by the circumstances at play in their lives. Blending these to make marriage work is a divinely inspired art form — challenging to master but definitely worth the effort.

The Art of Marriage is a 6 week long class meeting on Sunday morning during the 9am service in room 123.

The book explores 14 practical and gospel-centered principles that will help parents see their role through the lens of God's Word and change the way they interact with their children.

4th and 5th graders, get ready to have some fun! Celebrate the fabulous fall weather before it is too late! Spend the evening outside, enjoying the gaga ball pit, cornhole boards, and playground - all located just outside Door C. Parents, plan to drop your kids off and pick them up in Lot C. Kids are welcome to bring footballs, sidewalk chalk, or other outdoor gear.


Bring a friend or make some new ones! All 4th- and 5th-graders, regardless of church or school affiliation, are welcome. No need to register in advance. Just show up! (You don't even have to be on time. We'll be glad to see you whenever you get here.) Fun Fridays are flexible, free, and did we mention fun? You don't want to miss this!

You’ll gain a fresh understanding of how to study the Bible, and you’ll walk away with a fresh perspective of who God is.

This study takes place in three consecutive parts and requires three separate books.

Part 3: Exodus 24-40 (Feb. 12 - April 22)

Groups meet on various days of the week - choose the one that works best for you! The study begins for everyone during the week of Sept. 11.  Unfortunately, we are unable to offer childcare through the church during this study.
