Widowed Women Connect meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month to help you make new friends and attend social activities you may be reluctant to attend on your own. Each gathering will consist of some social time, a discussion of upcoming activities, and a 30-minute presentation on topics of interest to women living alone. May’s guest speaker is Dr. Brenda Prince who will challenge widowed women to take care of themselves – identifying health problems they might have and asserting themselves to find solutions.  We welcome you to join other women that can relate to you for a time of fellowship, laughter, and fun!

YoungLife Capernaum Club is designed for students ages 14-22 with special needs and meets on the third Saturday of each month from 4-5:30pm.

Anchored Club is geared towards adults ages 23 and older with special needs and meets on the third Saturday of each month from 4-5:30pm.

The arts have the ability to speak to hearts in ways everyday language does not. The Artistic Collaborative is a space for artists of all types in our church to come together, listen to the Lord through prayer and His Word, respond to Him by creating, and collaborate with other artists. Together, the artists facilitate synergy, as we create works that enhance the sermons preached on a Sunday at The Chapel. 

 At our gatherings, we look into Scripture, following the current sermon series, share together from our hearts, create, share creations, etc. We also want to hone one another’s gifts as we create and be a safe place to do that. Please join us on the second Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:30pm in the Choir Room.

We are currently seeking submissions for an upcoming exhibit on Matthew! Work can cover any subject matter pertaining to the gospel of Matthew, and all forms of media (paintings, drawings, poetry, sculpture, musical scores, performance, etc.) are acceptable. OASIS 55+ will be going to a RubberDucks Game!

Experience the excitement of America's favorite pastime as the Akron RubberDucks face off against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Canal Park on Thursday, May 30th. The action starts at 6:35 pm sharp. It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy a night of great baseball and fellowship!

You're invited to a time for mothers, grandmothers, and female caretakers with children ages birth to preschool to connect, be encouraged, and grow in faith with one another. This is a monthly gathering on the second Thursday of every month.

A class to better understand God's heart for disciple-making!

Jesus trusted His people with a mission: to go and make disciples. In this 3-week course, you’ll get a glimpse of God’s heart for disciple-making.  You’ll learn how to be prepared to boldly share your testimony and faith.

Classes will be held on Sunday Morning, April 21, 28, and May 5 at 9:00am in Room 102.

Our GKM "Be the Light Brunch" is a casual time for those interested in serving and new GKM volunteers to meet our staff and learn more about our ministry and answer any questions you may have about serving. This will take place in Room 219 following both the 9am and 10:40am services. Kiddos are welcome! 

Come and experience the warm and welcoming atmosphere of an open house-style gathering. We'll be serving brunch-style food as you have the opportunity to meet and grow with others in our church community.

A parent's most significant responsibility is providing a spiritual foundation for your child. Choosing to dedicate your child is the first step in building that foundation. You are, in effect, presenting them to the Lord. It’s a presentation of gratitude. It is saying publicly that this child is a gift from God, and the parents recognize God’s ownership. In return for this gift, the parents dedicate themselves to raising a child in the nurture and admonition of Christ.

Becoming a member is a formal way to express your commitment to The Chapel in Green. In 1 Corinthians 12, God likens individual believers in Jesus to distinctive parts that together comprise one body. This is an excellent picture of church membership. Every single follower of Jesus the world over is part of the “universal” body of Christ. Becoming a member of The Chapel in Green is a local expression of this same principle.

The membership class series includes 3 consecutive Sunday morning classes and a Saturday morning wrap-up class. Our next membership series begins on Sunday, April 14.

Learn to manage your stress in healthy ways along with building tools to strengthen marriage!

Join Todd and Kristin Evans for an afternoon helping parents nurture their faith, strengthen their marriages, and protect their mental health. There will be free childcare for children, teens, and/or young adults with special needs and their siblings (if needed) for the first 25 registered!

Team KID (Kids in Discipleship) on Wednesday nights this Fall for our Elementary (K-5th grade). Wednesday nights will be full of Bible knowledge, application of Bible truths, and fun games, all while helping kids grow to be more like Jesus. Kids will explore the Gospels and learn how each account of the story seamlessly weaves different details together to share the good news of Jesus and the kingdom of God.

TeamKid will run on Wednesdays, starting January 10th, from 6:30pm-8:00pm! Childcare is available for ages Birth-5 years old for parents serving or attending a Wednesday night study.

Exodus Simply Bible Study - A Women's Study

Are you struggling to find time to get into God’s Word? Are you hesitant to dig in deep, because you don’t think you’ll understand what you find? We’ve been there, and we understand the feelings of frustration and guilt that can creep into your heart when you feel inept or over-burdened! But studying the Bible shouldn’t be a source of frustration. It should be a source of life-giving encouragement! Join Carmen as she walks you through Exodus using the inductive Bible study method. You’ll gain a fresh understanding of how to study the Bible, and you’ll walk away with a fresh perspective of who God is.

This study takes place in three consecutive parts and requires three separate books.

Part 3: Exodus 24-40 (Feb. 12 - April 22)

Groups meet on various days of the week - choose the one that works best for you! The study begins for everyone during the week of Sept. 11.  Unfortunately, we are unable to offer childcare through the church during this study.

Tuesday afternoons from 1-2:30pm at the church

We have a number of groups that meet during the school year for our teens and adults! YoungLife Capernaum Club is designed for students ages 14-22, and our Anchored Club is geared towards adults ages 23 and older. Both groups meet on the third Saturday of each month from 4-5:30pm. Clubs are a great place to make new friends and to learn what it means to be part of a body of believers!

Sunday mornings are the center of our Special Needs Ministry. We offer classroom opportunities to individuals from birth through adulthood with strong Bible teaching that connects them in God's Big Story in memorable and exciting ways.

Kids with special needs can enjoy an inclusive grade-level classroom experience during the 10:40am service with a dedicated buddy if needed, or visit our exclusive sensory classroom with a variety of resources and modifications. 

Teens and adults with special needs can join our Assisted Learning class during the 10:40am service, where participation is accessible and adaptable. (This class is available as an in-person experience or can be attended remotely via Zoom.) 

Our Family Room, located across from the Nursery on the first floor, is a place where families can participate in the main worship service in a safe space where noise, movement, fidgeting, and playing are welcomed.

 We know new spaces can be quite intimidating, but we're here to help! Feel free to contact us during the week if you would like a tour of our building or if you have questions about which environment would be best for your loved one.
